There’s something so special and cozy about a fireplace.
Even though it practically never gets chilly enough in Texas to light the fire, it’s still a really special feature to have in a home.
I’ve been working with my friend Kelly over the weekend on her new home. We’ve been painting and freshening things as we go. Her fireplace was already painted white when they bought the home, but she felt like the space was lacking some warmth with all the white walls, so we decided to give it a little update – and it turned out great!
And what we used couldn’t have been easier on the budget.
We got a sample can of paint from Sherwin Williams in the color Chatura Gray for $6.
And the application was done with paper towels!
I would start off each brick by lightly dabbing the paint onto the brick with a paper towel. Then I’d add a bit more in some spots to give it some more texture and dimension. Overall, don’t worry about making it perfect – bricks always have little imperfections, so it all evens out.
Wipe out any spills or smudges with a wet towel.
And that’s it! This whole room has a different look now!
