Throwing it back tonight to a project that I did when we were still living in an apartment on the side of the highway! I posted this over a year ago, but recently it has taken a life of its own and made its rounds on Pinterest, so I decided to give it a permanent spot on the Youtube feed.
A little backstory – we were living in the apartment in 2020 when everything went into a ruckus. Since we were home lots of the time and trying to get as much “fresh” air as possible, we were spending more time on the balcony. After a few storms had torn my balcony curtains and everything was looking a little weathered, I decided to give it an overhaul for springtime.
Like I mentioned, we were *literally* living on the side of a highway with tons of traffic, so we wanted to also make the space as private as we could. Adding some curtains and a little lattice onto the railing to make it a little less see-through sounded like a great option.
I used 5 dollar sheer curtain panels from walmart, two vinyl lattices from Home Depot that I cut to size, 50 panels of faux ivy from the 99 cent store, some wire to affix them onto the lattice, and zip ties to string it up to the balcony! All in all, I spent less than $100 for the project.
If you’re living in apartment or have a balcony situation you’re trying to spruce up, this would be a great project to do!
