I wasn’t a fan of potpourri for years. Whatever kind I was smelling was old and flowery and shriveled and ugly. This is not the case for today! 2 reasons that you’ll love this DIY – it’ll smell amazing, and it’s gonna add the perfect pretty touch wherever you put it!
There’s no “perfect” ingredient list, so feel free to switch it up until you find the right blend. I used oranges, pinecones, roses, eucalyptus, some kind of cedar branch that I foraged, anise stars, and cinnamon sticks!
Other great things to use – dried lavender, your favorite evergreen snippets, any dried flowers, or any dried fruits!
You’ll also need a bit of carrier oil and some of your favorite essential oils. I used eucalyptus, thieves, nutmeg, and orange. Basically, I just mimicked the ingredients in my potpourri. If there are any diffuser combos that you love, use those!
Here’s how to dry out your own fruits: preheat the oven to 225 degrees. Slice your fruits into 1/4 inch slices and spread them out on a non-stick baking pan. Pop them in for about 3 hours, flipping them every hour!
Once you have all your ingredients together, put several drops of oil on your potpourri. You can always refresh it later on when you can’t smell it anymore!
That was easy, right?! Let me know how yours turn out!
