Have you ever had a surface that you wanted to be a beautiful, light wood color?
I was wanting to get that look for our dining room table awhile back, but with all the intricate designs in the table and chairs, it was feeling absolutely impossible to sand and strip it back to a light wood. I gave up and went to find another option for what we could do with that set to get the look I wanted.
I ended up painting it to look like wood using a combination of chalk paints and a waterproof semi-transparent stain. I love the way it turned out! It’s a super doable project to take on yourself, and makes a great statement piece wherever you need it.
So whether you’re trying to do a wood piece, some cabinetry, a plastic playhouse for your kids, or some shelving you thrifted, this is a great option!
