You already know this is going to be a good one!
I’m stenciling my BATHROOM FLOOR in order to change the look of the tile, and I’ve gotta say – it’s already soooo good.
We started out with a beige tile on the floors and showers, and while it wasn’t bad, we knew we wanted to change it eventually. Although we’ll probably get new tile at some point down the road, I figured we could try a budget-friendly option first. And so we did!
I got some floor tile stencils from Royal Design Studio and got to work. I started by deep cleaning and priming the floors with Kilz oil based primer.
Then I painted all the tile with my “grout” colored shade of paint, which in this case is a beige that blends nicely with the cabinetry and countertops.
And then the part we’ve all been waiting for – using the stencil. I will say up front that this is one of the more difficult stencils I’ve used, as it’s such a small and intricate print. If you get any extra paint on the stencil, it’s very noticeable and the bleed will show in between prints. Because of that, this project has been taking me extra long to finish. It’s a super detailed process, but the good news is that I LOVE how it’s turning out!
